Everyday we see compelling reasons why there is a great need to go more local and green. On Saturday the 30th, we will focus on what people can do in their own lives, homes, neighborhoods and community. Its really exciting to see the wonderful projects and initiatives we have in Eugene for going local and green and we want to draw on that deep and diverse experience.
We anticipate a plenary session, break out groups, panels and presentations featuring a broad range of community leaders and activists. We want to share real life experiences for moving forward that can be of use to people new to all this or already making big changes. The conference has much to offer the entire community.
We will touch on food and gardening, lifestyle, neighborhoods, land use, community collaborations, permaculture and much more. One track will feature diverse perspectives about the challenges we face in the near term relating to resources, energy, the economy, land use, food and culture. That discussion will segue into the topic – what strategies for the coming years – what can we do to meet these challenges. We plan to emphasize positive opportunities and the many tools and assets we have in Eugene, already available and ready for use.
Please join us! Save this date on your calendar and feel free to tell others about the conference.
