Join us for special presentation, on another wetland ecosystem – the Everglades. South Florida’s Everglades are home to alligators, crocodiles, and four species of venomous snake.  Which is the most dangerous?  None of the above, according to Park Ranger Tim Downey.  His pick is the Burmese python, a relative newcomer to the marshes and mangrove swamps.  He will tell us why in an illustrated talk. Tim Downey has been a park ranger with the National Park Service for ten years, with stints in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in California, Katmai National Park in Alaska, and Everglades National Park in Florida.  He is currently a summer site host for the West Eugene Wetlands. Meet down at the yurt at 751 S. Danebo Ave.

Start: 7:00 pm
End: 8:30 pm

Neighbors,
By now, your August newsletter will have arrived in your mailbox.
In it, we announced that a representative of the Jewel PUD will be joining us at our August meeting.

I would like to invite you all to visit us at this meeting, whether or not you have a vested interested in the Jewel PUD.
This meeting is different from most of our meetings with developers, as the planners involved contacted us to request time with you, the neighbors.
I believe that these types of action should be encouraged, and one of the best ways to ensure it continues into the future is through well-attended meetings.

Also on the agenda is a discussion of a possible commemoration of the site of the first Country Fair. We also have several opportunities for volunteer effort.

Our meetings are held at:
Churchill Estates, 1919 Bailey Hill Rd.
August 27th, 7pm.

Agenda

I hope to see many of you there.
