You are invited to a Community Open House for draft design concepts of the
Rexius site on Thursday, May 6 from 6-8:30 pm in the Churchill High
cafeteria.

Rexius has been working with the Community Planning Workshop at the
University of Oregon to develop a concept plan for the possible
redevelopment of their site at Bailey Hill and W 11th. An Architecture
design studio has taken site research and public opinion from interviews and
focus groups to create redevelopment concepts for Rexius.

The Open House is an opportunity for community members to learn about
Rexius's possible redevelopment plans and to provide input on the design
concepts. Five studio teams will present their designs during an event with
refreshments, input stations, and formal presentation.

We look forward to seeing you there and hearing your thoughts on issues,
opportunities, and visions for your neighborhood.

Please address any questions or comments to Patty Stevenson at
pstevens (at) uoregon.edu.

Thank you.

Mulkey Cemetery We’re looking at a great lineup for Memorial Day’s Cremation Garden Dedication this year!

The festivities begin at 1 p.m., with violin music from Morgan Denny — many of you have heard Morgan up in the cemetery practicing, over the last couple of years, and we’ve invited her to come start things off. Then Rev. Rebecca Ha...zen, who’s led our Easter service for the last two years, will offer an invocation, and we’ll have the traditional flag raising with the Coopers.

Linda will offer a few words of welcome, and then Churchill Area Neighborhood Association (CAN) Chair, Thomas Price, will address us — CAN has supported the cemetery through the City of Eugene’s Neighborhood Matching Grants program, and we appreciate how our neighborhood association continues to work with us.

Finally, the Hammered Brass Quintet will be performing. Those of you who were at the cemetery for their Memorial Day performance a couple of years ago will remember what a magical afternoon that was. I know I’m looking forward to the repeat performance.
